Founders
We built the community platform we couldn't find.
Ballastra comes from a simple frustration: every community platform we tried forced a choice between structure and soul. We wanted both, and we got tired of waiting for someone else to build it.
Ballastra launches on October 20, 2026
The platform is live today in public preview — you can create a Nexus, build Spaces and bring your people in right now. The public launch is the moment everything is officially open. Consider this your invitation to be early.
The team
Three people, all teenagers, spread across the work of building a platform — product, engineering and marketing. Each title below comes with a real scope of responsibility, not just a label.
Mudit Dixit
aka Luv, ScythMudit Dixit, also known as Luv or Scyth, is the Founder and CEO of Ballastra. He is building Ballastra with the vision of bringing communities, communication, collaboration, and opportunities together in one connected ecosystem. His focus is on shaping the product vision, leading the team, and turning an ambitious idea into a platform that can make online communities more meaningful and accessible.
I started Ballastra because I wanted to build something beyond another communication app. I saw an opportunity to bring communities, communication, and collaboration together in one place, so people could build, connect, and grow without everything being scattered across different platforms.

Why we're building this
Every community platform we tried forced a choice: structure or soul. Chat apps have the soul and the presence but not the structure — everything collapses into one endless scroll. Work tools have the structure but none of the life. Forums keep the knowledge but lose the real-time presence.
Ballastra is our attempt to build all three at once: real-time presence, thoughtful structure, and ownership that stays with the community — not with us. We think a community should be able to live somewhere instead of being spread across half a dozen apps.
What we kept hurting from
- ID verification blocking contributors who were perfectly ready to build.
- Communities losing their history and their people because the platform was not built for structure.
- Bots that break, that get handed every permission, or that quietly disappear.
- Voice that sounds like a phone call from 2005.
- Monetisation that taxes every member instead of letting creators earn from the value they create.
What we hold to
No ID gate
Signup is a username, an email and a password — no government ID, no facial scan, no age estimation.
Builders first
Communities for makers, developers, students and hobbyists. Structure that helps a group actually get things done.
Privacy by default
Encryption, scoped sessions and controls that hand choices to the people using the product, not the platform.
Free core, fair paid
The core of Ballastra is free. Paid features are optional, visible and never hold a community hostage.
The road so far
Started building — an empty repo and an idea for a better home for communities.

Building something? Tell us.
We're early, we move fast and we read everything. If you run a community, are building a product, or just have an opinion on what a community platform should be — we'd love to hear from you.
